TRAININGS AND WORKSHOPS FOR OUR STAKEHOLDERS
ِOrganic Agriculture Training Program
Organic Egypt Foundation organized a three-day specialized training program at the SEKEM Farm for a group of participants from Abu Dhabi. The program focused on key technical topics in sustainable agriculture, including water management, soil fertility, salinity control, and integrated pest management. The first day, led by Dr. Saber Hindawy, included extensive field visits across SEKEM’s Agricultural sections. Participants explored ecological diversity, soil regeneration, compost production, and the integration of animal systems in farming. The second day, delivered by Eng. Ahmed Adel, focused on drought and water-saving techniques and managing salinity under arid conditions. The sessions highlighted practical approaches for improving water use efficiency and maintaining farm ecosystem balance.
On the third day, Dr. Abdallah Korayem and Dr. Saber Hindawy presented sessions on soil structure, soil fertility, and crop management. Discussions included soil microbiology, compost and compost tea applications, crop rotation, and cover cropping strategies. The program concluded with an open reflection session, where participants shared experiences and key takeaways. The training fostered knowledge exchange and provided participants with practical insights applicable to their agricultural context in Abu Dhabi.

NETWORKING ACTIVITIES OF ORGANIC EGYPT FOUNDATION
Participation at Event “Experience the Economy of the Future”
Organic Egypt Foundation (OEF), participated in a conference followed by a two day workshop entitled: “Experience the Economy of the Future” in Graz, Austria. The event used the SEKEM’s vision for the future as an inspiration of what wants to emerge and how the new can be shaped. The event gathered international partners, educators, and innovators to exchange ideas and experiences in ecological and social transformation. OEF’s Managing Director presented the foundation’s achievements, along with the challenges facing the organic agriculture sector in Egypt as well as ongoing efforts to address these challenges like raising awareness, increasing access to agricultural inputs and organic markets. The event featured a rich program including conference sessions, workshops, concerts, and an excursion to organic farms in the region. Through these engagements, OEF strengthened its international network, exchanged insights on regenerative and biodynamic farming and received inspiration on how to continue its work in shifting the sector towards more sustainable farming practices.

Strategic European Field Visits for Global Partnership Building
During October 2025, the Organic Egypt Foundation team carried out a series of strategic field visits to strengthen partnerships with leading international institutions in organic and biodynamic agriculture. The field visits included a meeting at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, IFOAM – Organics International in Bonn, the Goetheanum Section for Agriculture in Switzerland, and a biodynamic compost workshop at Biohof Schäfer in Ludwigsburg. Each visit deepened professional and academic collaboration, from exploring student exchange and joint research opportunities with Hohenheim, to aligning on organic standards and the potential to host the Organic World Congress 2030 with IFOAM, to establishing OEF as an Egyptian hub for the Goetheanum’s agricultural materials and seminars. The compost workshop further enriched the team’s technical knowledge on biodynamic soil management practices. Together, these visits laid the groundwork for expanding global cooperation and fostering knowledge exchange within the organic movement.

Participation in a Workshop about Scaling Up Agroecology in Egypt
In October, representatives of Organic Egypt Foundation took part in a workshop organised by Nawaya, an Egyptian organization that revives the country’s food heritage by supporting small farmers and promoting authentic Egyptian cuisine and reconnects people with their roots through “from farm to fork, and from tradition to table,” while empowering rural communities, especially women. The workshop was entitled: “Managing the Transformation of Food Systems and Developing Pathways to Scale Up Agroecology in Egypt.” The three-day workshop brought together stakeholders from academia, civil society, government, and the private sector to design a collective roadmap for advancing agroecological practices in Egypt. Discussions centered on the triple value framework: social, environmental, and economic, and explored how to build a national alliance that supports farmers through knowledge exchange, funding mechanisms, and coordinated advocacy. Participants identified six key service areas for the emerging network: coordination, funding, knowledge development, awareness, advocacy, and accountability. The workshop concluded with a field visit to Nawaya’s agroecological farm in Giza, where participants experienced practical examples of sustainable farming, community-based food processing, and local empowerment models.

Organic Egypt Foundation Participates in Job X2 Fair at Heliopolis University
Organic Egypt Foundation participated in the Job X2 Fair at Heliopolis University, a career-oriented event organized to connect students and recent graduates with organizations working in the fields of agriculture, sustainability, and rural development. The fair, coordinated by the FAO Model Alumni, provides a platform that promotes youth employability, professional networking, and knowledge exchange between academia and development institutions. The foundation’s team engaged with students and recent graduates eager to explore career opportunities in the agricultural field. During the fair, students learned about Organic Egypt Foundation’s mission and opportunities for internships, training, and volunteering. The event highlighted youth interest in organic farming and reinforced the foundation’s role in empowering young talents in sustainable agriculture.
