Job Description

The Egyptian Biodynamic Association is a non-governmental organization which is registered with the Egyptian Ministry of Social Affairs. It was established in 1990 with the aim to promote organic and biodynamic agriculture in Egypt. The vision of EBDA is to make biodynamic, sustainable and organic agriculture the mainstream agriculture methods in Egypt to foster healthy environment and healthy people.
EBDA supports farms to convert their land to organic or biodynamic agriculture, offer training courses in biodynamic/organic agriculture, provide all required services and advice for the farms to be inspected by international auditors. EBDA also coordinates applied research projects, cooperate with similar international authorities and organisations and administrate the private trademark DEMETER for biodynamic products in Egypt.
In the course of achieving its vision, EBDA is searching for an administrative specialist. The tasks will include researching, preparation of presentations, as well as the provision of administrative and logistical services.

Job Requirements

    • A degree in a scientific discipline, e.g. Business, agricultural development, agricultural economics, international relations, communication;
    • Good understanding of organizational processes and procedures;
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and audiences
    • Excellent command of written and spoken English;
    • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and web applications such as Google Drive;
    • Excellent time-management and organizational skills;
    • Collaborative and team-oriented;
    • Strategic thinker;
    • An upbeat and enthusiastic attitude;
    • Strong work ethics and integrity;

Responsibilities

    • Assist the executive manager in the preparation and management of meetings, including coordinating the development of the agenda, logistical arrangements, drafting of reports and minutes of the meetings, as well as their final dissemination;
    • Assist the executive manager to monitor and follow up on the various initiatives and important matters under her responsibilities;
    • Manage all administrative matters pertaining to the office, including establishing and effective filing system, preparation of travel authorizations; leave requests, and expense claims;
    • Act as the contact person in the office and effectively manage requests for information and queries from within and outside;
    • Draft responses to various official correspondences;
    • Perform any other tasks assigned by the executive manager;
